The McCall Music Society was incorporated on May 9, 1988. Since that time the Society has hosted a variety of musical performances and educational opportunities for the benefit of local musicians, audiences, and students. In so doing, our aim is to enrich the cultural climate of the McCall area. In keeping with that aim, the McCall Music Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation. Contributions to the Society are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law as defined by the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. Our programs include Dorothy Beyerle music scholarships for McCall area students in K-12, master classes given by guest artists for local area students, joint sponsorship of the Second Sunday Sounds @ Six Series with the Community Congregational Church/United Church of Christ and the McCall Arts & Humanities Council, hosting distinguished artists in concert, and furthering a variety of other programs as they arise. Recent performances include Christmas concerts over the last several years, featuring local singers and musicians; presentation of the Langroise Trio in 2010; a 2010 gala benefit concert starring Jeff Cohan and Tom Harris, "Go for Baroque and All That Jazz"; and, concerts by international medalist and Steinway artist, Steven Spooner. In addition, the Society has dedicated several concerts in recent years to premiering the works of Idaho composers. |
